Averages of norms and behavior of families of projective caps on the sphere ∗

چکیده
We compute the number of summands in q-averages of norms needed to approximate an Euclidean ball. Surprisingly, for a large range of q-s, these numbers depend essentially only on the maximal ratio of the norm and the Euclidean norm. Some properties of a family of projective caps on the sphere are central in this study. Averages of norms and quasi - norms ∗
We compute the number of summands in q-averages of norms needed to approximate an Euclidean norm. It turns out that these numbers depend on the norm involved essentially only through the maximal ratio of the norm and the Euclidean norm. Particular attention is given to the case q = ∞ (in which the average is replaced with the maxima). This is closely connected with the behavior of certain famil...
متن کاملComparison of Ethnic and Religious Identity based on Socio-Cultural Variables among the Middle School Students in District 17 of Tehran
Social identity is a constant and permanent process that changes social situations based on individual experiences in these situations. Religious and ethnic identities are two dimensions of social identity that are of great importance in Iranian society. Due to the ethnic diversity in Iran and the proximity of ethnic cultures through migration, ethnic identity is noticeable. Religious identity ...
متن کاملConstructions of Small Complete Caps in Binary Projective Spaces
In the binary projective spaces PG(n,2) k-caps are called large if k > 2n−1 and small if k ≤ 2n−1. In this paper we propose new constructions producing infinite families of small binary complete caps.

Introduction Statistical analysis of the data on the Earth's surface was a favorite subject among many researchers. Such data can be related to animal's migration from a region to another position. Then, statistical modeling of their paths helps biological researchers to predict their movements and estimate the areas that are most likely to constitute the presence of the animals. From a geome...

The main goal of the process of socialization is to prepare individuals for effective participation in society, in the sense of internalizing the values and norms of the ruling community to meet the needs and achieve collective goals. The present article seeks to investigate the functional comparison of the normative conflicts of the educational institution with the family institution and its...
